just before you reach the town of Klamath. To get here, take a right (West) on Requa Rd. Our first stop was the Klamath Overlook, where the Klamath River washes into the Pacific Ocean. We picked up other maps along the way but none were as useful as Carolyn’s hand-drawn version. She also gave us a map of the area (a photocopy of her own hand-drawn map) and spent at least 15 minutes telling us about all of the major attractions and her favorite places.

(Thanks Neil Diamond, that catchy tune was stuck in our heads for days.) Carolyn was super friendly and told us about her grand kids and great-grand kids. Her name was actually Carolyn but we referred to her as “Sweet Caroline” for the rest of our stay. The Mystic Forest RV Park is an older, smaller park but we were instantly charmed by the adorable older woman running the front desk. (The shortest was while staying at Lake Cushman in Washington.) From Crescent City we drove a mere 19 miles south to Klamath, California where we would be staying at the Mystic Forest RV Park, just minutes from the Trees of Mystery and the famous statues of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. A rock and roll concert is meant to move snd groove with the audience and that type of interaction does not happen with this type of concert.as my hubby said afterward “I had to sit still too long.” We wished we’d have left at intermission.The drive to our next camping spot was our second shortest yet. It’s interesting technology and we both agreed we were glad we tried it out but once was enough.

We recommend that you google how the holograms were made.they were based on body doubles (not live footage of Buddy or Roy transformed into holograms).

The most interesting part was the small rock and roll band that accompanied the show.the two female backup singers were somewhat annoying as they swayed through the whole show but the audience could not do the same. The historical interlude footage on big screens was a nice idea but the spoken words were not understandable and the written text was too small and flashed by too quickly if you were not seated close to the front. The audience politely sat as still as attending an opera and dutifully applauded after each song. There is no audience interaction like a typical concert and this is more like watching a concert on your home tv. The first 15 minutes were interesting from a technology standpoint.but it became rather boring. My review here is solely related to this particular concert.we thought it was an interesting concept and tickets were only $35. The Mystic Showroom is a wonderful venue and we enjoy concerts there.
